This time in Perfect Mask, I isolated a picture from its background and then added another photo as the background. I used the drop brush tool to get rid of the white colored background and the refine brush tool to clean up the white halo that was left. You can do the same thing with the magic wand tool in Photoshop and then refine edge.
You can use Perfect Mask as a stand alone program or as a plug-in in Photoshop.
The difference is that with the refine brush tool in Perfect Mask you just brush over the hair strands and it automatically takes out any of the leftover background color. I did it with one swipe. I have not mastered that skill in Photoshop. I have a really hard time doing hair strands in Photoshop. It was pretty much a breeze in this program.
I then used one of the backgrounds in the program to change up the “mood” of the photo. I added some effects that come with Perfect Mask (e.g. HDR Surreal, a Grunge effect, etc).
